A dispute over the status of outside left Dave McEachern, who had been “award(ed)” to the New Bedford Whalers caused the Wonder Workers to cease competing in the Atlantic Coast Soccer League. Nov. 25 1930 – Reigning Bay State League champion Lynn Riversides league leaders

The New England Revolution scored in regulation time for the first time in an MLS Cup final before losing to the Dynamo for the second successive year. The Revolution, who had fallen in the 2002, ’05, ’06 finals, had been shut out in the post-season before Taylor Twellman’s 113th-minute goal snapped their 331-minute scoreless streak. Frank Dell'Apa

Frank Dell’Apa began covering soccer in the days of the original NASL. He was the Boston Globe’s soccer columnist for nearly 23 years before being recruited to work for a start-up television network in Miami. In late 2014, he returned to Boston, where he is based as a freelance journalist. Dell’Apa has covered seven World Cups, MLS since the league started, and continues to be involved with the NASL as part of a New York Cosmos Podcast.
