Foxboro Stadium was evacuated and kickoff delayed 72 minutes, then Dallas opened the scoring as Jason Kreis assisted Damian Alvarez (19’), and scored in the 27th minute. Alejandro Farias cut the deficit with a 29th-minute header and Alexi Lalas equalized with a 65th-minute header off an Imad Baba pass. Frank Dell’Apa began covering soccer in the days of the original NASL. He was the Boston Globe’s soccer columnist for nearly 23 years before being recruited to work for a start-up television network in Miami. In late 2014, he returned to Boston, where he is based as a freelance journalist.
