June 14, 2018 by frankdellapa@gmail.com

The Revolution became the first MLS team to lose to an amateur team in Foxborough’s inaugural U.S. Open Cup match. The Revolution gambled by opening Foxboro Stadium, drawing a “lively but all-time low” attendance (until a 947 crowd arrived for a 7-1 win in a rematch with the Bucks in 2001).
