Mario Mandzukic opened the scoring for Juventus against Roma. The Bianconeri took the lead for the first time in three New England performances – they drew with the U.S. national team (0-0) at the Yale Bowl in 1991 and Barcelona (2-2) at Gillette Stadium in 2003. Frank Dell'Apa

Frank Dell’Apa began covering soccer in the days of the original NASL. He was the Boston Globe’s soccer columnist for nearly 23 years before being recruited to work for a start-up television network in Miami. In late 2014, he returned to Boston, where he is based as a freelance journalist. Dell’Apa has covered seven World Cups, MLS since the league started, and continues to be involved with the NASL as part of a New York Cosmos Podcast.
