Fall River’s Freddy Wall scored nearly a goal game in the ASL, spending much of his professional career playing outside New England. In 1927, Wall performed for Galicia SC, the International League champions, and was in the starting lineup for a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid on Sept. 24, 1927. Frank Dell'Apa

Frank Dell’Apa began covering soccer in the days of the original NASL. He was the Boston Globe’s soccer columnist for nearly 23 years before being recruited to work for a start-up television network in Miami. In late 2014, he returned to Boston, where he is based as a freelance journalist. Dell’Apa has covered seven World Cups, MLS since the league started, and continues to be involved with the NASL as part of a New York Cosmos Podcast.
