The Revolution’s Clint Dempsey’s 17th-minute goal, his sixth of the season, kicked off a three-game scoring streak. But Dempsey was limited by injuries and would fail to score again for the Revolution before being transferred to Fulham FC. Trinidad & Tobago forward Scott Sealy’s 58th-minute goal equalized. Frank Dell’Apa began covering soccer in the days of the original NASL. He was the Boston Globe’s soccer columnist for nearly 23 years before being recruited to work for a start-up television network in Miami.
