
Two Gabriel Batistuta goals (2’, 44’) gave Argentina a 2-0 halftime lead in the Albiceleste’s World Cup ’94 opener. Diego Maradona (60’) and Batistuta (penalty kick) upped the lead, launching Argentina into a favorite’s role.
