May 24, 1934 – Aldo (Buff) Donelli scores four, U.S. 4:2 Mexico WCQ at Stadio PNF, Rome

Buff Donelli also scored for the U.S. in its 1934 World Cup match, a 7-1 loss to Italy on May 27, 1934. Donelli starred for Pittsburgh area soccer teams from the 1920s through ’40s, and also coached and played for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL, later coaching Boston University’s football team.

May 24, 2002 – Revolution acquire Daniel Hernandez, Brian Kamler and Diego Serna from NY/NY MetroStars in exchange for Ted Chronopoulos, Mamadou Diallo, Andy Williams. Chronopoulos last of original Revolution to perform for the team

May 24, 2008 – Columbus Crew 0:1 Revolution at Crew Stadium (Att.: 15,621)

Goal: Kheli Dube 89th. Notes: Dube converted the rebound of a Shalrie Joseph penalty kick saved by Will Hesmer. On Buck a Brat night, a rowdy group of Crew supporters showered Steve Ralston with objects on corner kicks, one later disciplined for racial epithets in response to the Revolution’s goal celebration.
