July 19, 2003 – Landon Donovan sets Gillette Stadium scoring record

Landon Donovan converted four goals as the U.S. took a 5-0 victory over Cuba in a CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinal match. Revolution midfielder Steve Ralston scored a goal and combined with Eddie Lewis to provide crosses for Donovan and Brian McBride. There have been 11 hat tricks at Gillette, Walter Centeno (Costa Rica) completing one on this day. The U.S. outscored El Salvador, Martinique and Cuba by a 9-0 margin over an eight-day period at Gillette, then lost, 2-1, in extra time to Brazil in the semifinals in Miami on July 23, 2003.
