Diego Fagundez (second minute) and Kelyn Rowe (65th) scored as the New England Revolution tied a team record winning streak set in 2005. The Revolution (13W-9L-7D, 46 points) moved within a point of clinching a playoff berth for the third successive season. The Revolution then faded, failing to win another match until the regular season-ender, then losing in their playoff-opener.
