Jose Soroa’s eighth-minute finish over Tony DiCicco made the difference as the Astros (6W-2L-1D, 13 points) pulled within three points of the first-place Wildcats (7W-2L-2D, 16 points).DiCicco (b. in Wethersfield, Conn., Aug. 5, 1948) played at Springfield College, going on to an ASL career with the Wildcats and Rhode Island Oceaneers. DiCicco played once for the U.S. in a match against Lazio in 1973, then went on to join the U.S. Women’s National Team as an assistant under Anson Dorrance, becoming head coach from 1994-1999 (103-8-8 record). DiCicco guided the U.S. to the 1996 Olympic championship, the 1999 Women’s World Cup title and the 2008 U-20 WWC, then coached the Boston Breakers from 2009-11.
