Post by

Moore signed with MLS while playing for Nuremberg under current Bayern Munich assistant Hermann Gerland. Moore scored 11 goals in 14 games, but the Revolution fell short of the initial MLS playoffs, losing to the Columbus Crew on the final day of the 1996 regular season. Moore returned to Europe to play for Everton from 1999-2002, then concluded his MLS career with the Revolution from 2002-04. Moore totaled 15 goals in 29 games in 1999, his most productive MLS season, and had 43 goals in 100 Revolution appearances when he retired – second behind Taylor Twellman, and now fourth behind Twellman, Lee Nguyen and Steve Ralston. Moore added 24 goals in 100 matches for the U.S. national team, including the final two goals scored at Foxboro Stadium in a 2-1 victory over Trinidad & Tobago as the U.S. clinched a place in the World Cup finals Oct. 7, 2001.
