Jan. 9, 2014 – Revolution acquire Charlie Davies from Randers on free transfer

Charlie Davies always wanted to play for his hometown team, but it took seven years and five transfers before his wish came true. Davies joined the Revolution on loan from Randers FC in August 2013, the move made permanent after the season.

Davies then helped spark a Revolution run to the 2014 MLS Cup final. Davies set a team post-season record with four goals in five games as the Revolution eliminated the Columbus Crew and New York Red Bulls on the way to the final, a 2-1 extra time loss to the LA Galaxy.

In 2015, Davies led the Revolution with 10 goals in 33 games (25 starts).

In 2016, Davies scored one goal before being injured, then being diagnosed with liposarcoma. Davies recovered, then was dealt to the Philadelphia Union in exchange for a 2018 first-round draft choice and allocation money Aug. 4, 2016.

Davies’ Revolution all-competition totals: 72 games, 18 goals.
